Avis Mexico offers you the most comprehensive protection plans for a travel with complete peace of mind. They are offered at the time of rental and are completely optional.

When you reserve or pre-pay your car online at avis.mx, you will receive a special price on our discounted Plus Protection Package, available for purchasing at the time of your rental.

Here you can find our protection options available at the time of your rental. Prices apply only to online reservations made through avis.mx and are expressed per day. Prices already include taxes and VAT.

PROTECTION PACKAGES:

Plus Protection Package (Discounted Package - For avis.mx reservations and prepayments only)

Inclusions:

• Partial Damage Waiver (PDW). PDW reduces the customer’s financial responsibility for damage to or loss of the Avis vehicle as a result of an accident or theft. Financial liability 10%
• Additional Liability Insurance (ALI) Protects you and all authorized drivers against third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims. Up to $15 million MXN per event.
• Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) Protects you and your passengers with insurance and medical coverage, in case of an accident. Up to $500,000 MXN per event.
• Personal Effects Insurance (PEP) Covers your personal belongings during your trip. Up to $35,000 MXN per event.

These protections are totally invalidated in the following cases:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol or any type of drug.
• Driving the car on unpaved and impassable roads.
• If the driver is not registered in the rental agreement.
• If the driver leaves the car in case of an accident.
• The use of the Avis vehicle as a taxi or any form of public transport, the use of the vehicle in any form of racing, safety, endurance or speed tests, as well as in competitions or exhibitions.

The renter will be responsible for the full cost of damage or theft if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, policies, procedures, terms and conditions Protections, coverages, policies and procedures valid in Mexico only.

If you are considering driving without any protection for the car, you will be subject to an authorization hold on your credit card. When you return your vehicle, Avis will release the hold in case there is no damage to the car. Important: The following car groups require the purchase of (PDW) Partial Damage Waiver: J, XE, XG, XI, XK & XN.

Additional Products and Services

Avis Mexico offers you the following additional products and services, available at the time of your rental.

Additional driver.
$228 MXN per day up to a maximum of $1,136 MXN per rental. Price includes surcharges and VAT.

Prepaid fuel price per liter.
$29 MXN per liter consumption, renting at airport or city locations (includes charges and VAT).

Fuel service price per liter without prepayment.
$58 MXN per liter consumption, renting at airport or city locations (includes charges and VAT).

Wifi
$318 MXN per day. Price includes surcharges and VAT.

Child (Baby) Safety Seat - Child Booster Seat/ CSS - CBS.
$253 MXN per day up to a maximum of $1,263 MXN per rental. Price includes surcharges and VAT.

Under Age Surcharge.
$207 MXN per day. Price includes surcharges and VAT.

Roadside Assistance.
$120 MXN per day. Price includes surcharges and VAT.

Loss of use (LOU): in case of an eventuality in which the vehicle is unable to be rented again, the customer will be responsible for all lost rental days attributable to the time of repair or detention; This charge is waived when purchasing our Total Protection package or the purchased relief is invalidated for not respecting the contracted policies and procedures. Available at the rental counter.

In the event that the Avis vehicle is detained due to an accident, an alcohol test or incorrect parking, in addition to the fines and expenses for the release of the vehicle, charges will be applied for the rental days the vehicle is detained and a fee for administrative services of MXN 1,000 (plus airport tax and VAT).

Vehicle License Fee (VLF): This recovery fee applies to vehicle procedures and services, such as license plates, provisional permits, tenure, verification, among others.

Premium Roadside Assistance (RSA): You can count on Avis to send you a duplicate key, replace a flat tire, recharge your batteries or fill your tank if you run out of gas. Available at the rental counter.
